Injured injured sea life being cared for by Nature Trust – FEE Malta will now have a better chance of survival thanks to ITU equipment funded by UK in Malta – British High Commission Valletta and Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, as part of our International Programme Fund.

The equipment, consisting of three ITU chambers for wildlife rehabilitation, was launched during the release at Gnejna Bay of Shelley, a 3-year-old loggerhead turtle that fell victim to marine debris, but has now recovered all injuries after weeks of treatment and observation.

Each chamber is equipped with humidity, temperature control and oxygen tanks along with the latest technology required in caring for and rehabilitating wildlife, including weak turtle hatchlings that previously did not make it and used to end up suffocating under the sand.

During the launch, High Commissioner Katherine Ward said that the British High Commission Valletta was proud to continue supporting Nature Trust’s work in Malta.

Nature Trust – FEE Malta President Vincent Attard said this investment was vital to assist the organisation in rescuing wildlife and giving these animals another chance of survival.

Mr Attard thanked the British High Commission for ‘`the great support towards the local natural heritage.”
