An interesting workshop for music teachers and musicians is being organised by Schola Cantorum Jubilate. The choir said that it is its mission to musically educate and provide the best training to its choristers. This time around, the choir is expanding its project to local music educators.

This Friday, the 29th of July, a workshop will be held and delivered by the international Kodály practitioner and lecturer Len Tyler. Mr. Tyler will introduce the principles of the Kodály approach to music teaching and learning through various tried and tested activities.

Mr Tyler has a career of 27 years in the army music including 17 year of music direction. On leaving the military, he studied music in education with a number of organisations including Colourstrings, the British Kodály Academy and the Trinity College of Music in London. In 1994, he founded the Len Tyler Music School, an organisation that provides music tuition at all levels.

The youngest pupil ever was a 22-week of pregnancy and the highest-level pupil held a doctorate in music. Mr Tyler is also an author of a series of musicianship training books and various articles.

This workshop will be held on Friday 29th July, at 7pm until 9.30pm, at Manresa Hall in Victoria, Gozo. Participation is free of charge but booking in advance is necessary. Bookings can be made on info@scjchoir.com. For further details, please call on 7945 0950.
