There were 56 new Covid-19 cases recorded on the Public Health Response Team official open source database in the last 2 days. There were also 2 news deaths registered.

No figures were reported yesterday, however both the 26th and 27th have been published today, with 35 new cases on the 26th and 21 on the 27th, with 1 death recorded on each day.

Active cases in Malta and Gozo are now down to at 154. This brings the total number of cases in the Maltese Islands since the start of the pandemic to 113,972.

No information is available for the number of Covid positive patients in hospital. There have been a total of 801 deaths since the start of the pandemic.

There were 584 tests taken on the 26th, making a positivity rate of 6.00%, while there were 583 test on the 27th, making a positivity rate of 3.60%.

The Health Department said that tests carried out at home are not included in the figures.
