A Celebration of LightNext Sunday, as the sun goes down, Ghar Ilma Hill will be lit up with thousands of lanterns – all set against the beautiful backdrop of the Gozitan countryside surrounding the heart of the quaint village of Santa Lucija in Gozo.

The Fjakkolata has been taking place in the village for over 30 years, in celebration of the feast of Our Lady of Fatima, which falls on the 13th of October.Fjakkolata by Daniel CiliaThis breathtaking evening attracts visitors from all over the island to enjoy the spectacular scene from St. Lucija Square, where there will also be the chance to savour local food, together with the unique hospitality of this village.

The traditional Fjakkolata – Celebration of Light is taking place on Sunday, the 9th of October, the torches will start being lit from 7.00pm onwards, on Ghar Ilma Hill.
