The announcement that The Cittadella Rehabilitation and Restoration project has won this year’s Regiostars 15th anniversary edition of Public Choice Award, has been welcomed by the Gozo Tourism Association.

In a statement, the Association said that this Award is a tribute to Gozo and to all those who were involved in this massive project that finally exposed the real beauty of the Cittadella.

This iconic spot in Gozo is the most frequented spot on the island by tourists both foreign and local it said.

The Association went on to say that the Cittadella Rehabilitation and Restoration project is a perfect example towards a commitment by all stakeholders involved to continue restoring our rich cultural and historic heritage for the benefit of both the visitors to Gozo as well as to all the inhabitants of the island.

The Gozo Tourism Association added that it believes that through such projects the offer of Gozo as a touristic destination is further enhanced and enriched.

The Gozo Tourism Association concluded by saying that it would like to extend its gratitude to all the team who worked towards the achievement of this award as well to all those who on a daily basis are looking after the maintenance and upkeep of the Cittadella.
