Gieh il-Munxar 2022 is to be awarded to two people who are synonymous with the village – Spiru Curmi and Lonza Borg, the Local Council said.

“Spiru Curmi has worked hard especially on woodwork in the Church and in the Parish Centre, as well as in organisation of the village festival,” the Council said. “While Lonza Borg has worked hard, particularly in collecting donations for the Parish and for voluntary associations, as well as the organisation of a number of activities, to name but a few.”

The village of Munxar will be celebrating Munxar Day, tomorrow, Monday the 12th of December, when all residents of the locality are invited to Mass which starts at 6pm.

The Munxar Local Council said that following the Mass, a celebration evening will be held in the Parish Centre, from 7pm onwards, which will include the presentation of this year’s Gieh il-Munxar Awards.

The Munxar Local Council expressed its thanks to Spiru Curmi and Lonza Borg for their work within the community during the year, as well as for the future.
