An NGO Assistance Scheme to support the work and operation of the voluntary organisations based in Gozo, has been launched by Gozo Minister Clint Camilleri.

€120,000 has been allocated for this scheme. The maximum amount of financial assistance that can be given for each proposal is €5,000.

The Minister explained that this scheme, which is administered by the Ministry for Gozo, is intended for the Ministry, among others, to assist voluntary organisations that are going to implement a project, event or carry out an initiative with benefit the Gozitan community and to strengthen and support volunteerism in Gozo.

He said that in previous years, the allocated funds were an effective support for the voluntary sector so that the work of these organisations continued.

The Minister for Gozo invited voluntary organisations to submit their application for this scheme, which will open on Thursday, the 4th of May and close on Wednesday, the 31st of May.
