The Gozo CCU Foundation held its Summer Sizzler on Sunday, the 30th of August, at Ta Mena Estate on the Marsalforn Road. Over 200 people attended this fundraising event, many of them came from Malta specifically to support the Foundation.

A great evening was had by all. The Wallace Pipes and Drums gave a return performance by popular demand and with Spiro Stillato, they provided a great evenings entertainment between them. The guests sat down to a lovely 4 course meal cooked and prepared by the excellent staff of Ta Mena.

During the Evening Mrs Jan Scarrow announced that later next year, her husband Paul, will be swimming the Gozo-Malta Channel in aid of two Charities one of them being the Gozo CCU Foundation.

The Chairman Carmen Bellamy thanked all the businesses who helped to make this event such a great success. Special thanks go to Ta Mena, Marsovin, General Soft Drinks, Abraham, David’s Bakery, Smugglers, JDB Printers and Arcadia who all supported this Event so generously.

The Foundation is presently raising funds to purchase much needed electric beds for the Gozo CCU/ITU Ward.

The Foundation’s next event is the Winter Interlude on the 14th November 2009. Further information will be released in due course.
