The water Services Corporation said that its first-ever Green Bonds issuance, amounting to €25 million, has been fully subscribed in “record time.”
Proceeds from the Green Bonds will be used to finance a number of green projects, including Gozo’s “cutting-edge” reverse osmosis plant in Hondoq, the WSC said.
The €25 million issuance will have a maturity term of 10 years and an interest rate of 4.25% and are in line with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals and the EU’s Green Deal.
The WSC said that his remarkable success on the Green Bonds “is a testament to the strong confidence in our commitment to sustainability and our pioneering role in Malta’s green economy.”
