Nature Trust Malta said that it is “very happy to announce that the Ramla Bay first hatchlings have hatched today and the baby turtles have made it safely to the sea.”
This was a difficult hatching since the little ones started coming out at daytime and were exposed to the sun.
Under the guidance of Vet Dr Grupetta and the assistance of ERA, the first hatchlings were monitored to ensure they were of good strength as they made their way to the sea.
“Thanks goes to all turtle volunteers, ERA – Environment & Resources Authority and Ministry for Gozo. Well done Nature Trust – FEE Malta – Gozo Section.”
NTM is appealing to all boats passing close to Ramla Bay to drive slowly as the little ones swim out to open sea.
