Religious statues feature in Maltese Festa stamp issue

The seventh series of stamps – Maltese Festa – depicting religious statues found in various churches in Gozo and Malta, is being issued by MaltaPost.

This philatelic issue will feature the following processional statues:
Gozo
Saint Lucy in Santa Lucija;
Saint Paul Shipwrecked in Munxar; and
The Nativity of the Blessed Virgin (Marija Bambina) in Xaghra.
Malta
Saint Martin of Tours (France) in Bahrija;
Saint Helen in Birkirkara;
Our Lady of the Lillies (Madonna Tal -Gilju) in Mqabba;
Our Lady of Fatima in Pietà;
Our Lady of Lourdes in Qrendi; and
Our Lady of the Sacred Heart (Sacro Cuor) in Sliema; Saint Augustine in Valletta.
The stamps will be issued in sheets of 10, with each stamp measuring 31mm x 44mm, a comb perforation of 13.0 x 14.0 and bearing the Maltese Cross watermark.
Each sheet measures 182mm x 115mm and was produced in the offset process by Printex Ltd. The issue consists of 600,000 stamps, and each one has a denomination of €0.38.
The philatelic issue will be available from all Post Offices in Malta and Gozo as from Thursday, the 31st of August.
