Gozo Minister Clint Camilleri is in Saint-Malo, Brittany, for the General Assembly of the CPMR (Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions), and the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the CPMR.

Presentations will be made today during the conference for which hundreds of delegates convened from the European regions located on the outskirts of Europe.

Minister Camilleri participated in several sessions where many themes and global challenges were discussed, including how the strengthening and cohesion in the European Union will continue.

Those who made interventions stressed the need for more cooperation and to strengthen the role of states and regions in the periphery of Europe to influence the future development of Europe.

Next year’s General Assembly will be held in Gozo between the 2nd and 4th of October.

The Gozo Minister said that “an event of this caliber will do a lot of good for the fact that the challenges of Gozo and the people of Gozo will be dealt with on a European level. We have a lot to offer and the Ministry for Gozo will do its best to make this event a success and also serve as a showcase for everything that Gozo has to offer.”
