The Malta College of Arts, Science, and Technology (MCAST) held the final of twenty-six graduation ceremonies in Gozo earlier this month.

During the event, a total of 103 MCAST students who had been following courses ranging from Level 2 awards up to Level 4 Advanced Diplomas at the MCAST Gozo Campus graduated in a wide array of subjects including, ICT, Accounting, Health, Social Care, Mechanical Engineering, Finance, Insurance, and Hairdressing.

The final graduation ceremony was held at the MCAST Gozo Campus. Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri, attended the event.

The Minister met with students and congratulated them on their hard-earned success.

Minister Camilleri said, “never give up as you persevere in your studies and career development. Work gives us value and dignity, and I encourage you to keep looking for opportunities where you can fulfil your potential. As the train of life passes you by, I encourage you to take the leap and make the most of that opportunity for your growth and the benefit of society.”

Principal and CEO Prof James Calleja, “We are proud of each student, and every step of your success matters to us. We celebrate students’ success as they progress at different levels. Our College courses and services are designed for all to thrive and succeed.”

He added that, “this marks the final graduation ceremony for 2023. My gratitude goes to all our staff members and the Registrar’s office that has overseen the success of these graduation ceremonies.”

In the student speech, Applied Sciences Diploma Graduate Nicholas Cardona showed gratitude toward the lecturers and administration at the Gozo Campus.

He said that, “two years after I started my learning journey at the College, I can confirm that MCAST was the right choice. Our theoretical learning is further strengthened through the work-based learning experience.”

“My work practice at the Gozo General Hospital was a unique experience where real-life situations made what I learned in class more evident.” Cardona added, “it has also led me to aspire towards a career in nursing, and I will continue to pursue my studies in this area.”

Gozo Campus Director Ing. Godwin Grech encouraged students to take the lead in empowering themselves.

“For us educators, your success encourages us to keep working with determination. Everyone has a part to play, and your sacrifices and efforts have led to your success. There are many aspects of your future that you can control. The decisions you take now will shape your future. The best way to predict the future is to create it,” he said.

The MCAST Gozo Campus offers courses ranging from Level 1 Introductory Certificates to Level 6 Bachelor Degrees in various study areas, including Accounting, Engineering, Sports, Finance, ICT, Social Care, Community Care, Business, and Education.
