Social media messages are accompanying the Safer Roads campaign launched in November to run for six months by Doctors for Road Safety (D4RS).
The latest of these for the New Year’s Eve weekend is aimed at everyone to keep enjoying life BEYOND the festivities – Don’t drive under the influence of drink or drugs – Safest is zero.
D4RS also launched a poster campaign which are displayed on the buses.
Four separate themes were chosen to highlight the major issues which need to be addressed to have safer roads in Malta.
These include driving with excessive speed, driving whilst distracted especially whilst using a mobile phone, driving under the influence of either alcohol or psychoactive drugs, and finally the impact of respect and courtesy as a positive influence.
