Polling Stations across Gozo and Malta opened at 7am this morning for todays European Parliament and Local Council Elections. They will close at 10pm.

For the EP elections there are 332,967 eligible voters from the 370,184 registered, after 10% or 37,217 voters failed to collect their voting documents by Thursday.

There are 39 candidates contesting six seats for the European Parliament elections.

There are 346,692 people eligible to cast their votes in the Local Council elections from 457,343 registered voters, after 24% of voting documents remained uncollected, or 110,651.

There are 707 candidates for Local Council elections, with 474 places available across the Maltese Islands.
