Unemployment rate rises again, with 3.2% recorded for MayData released today by the National Statistics Office show that in May, the monthly unemployment rate was 3.2%, increasing by 0.1 percentage points on April and on May last year.

In May, the number of unemployed persons was 10,186, with the 25 to 74 age group being the major contributor to the overall level of unemployment, the NSO said.

For May, the unemployment rate for males was 3.6% while the rate for females stood at 2.6%.

The unemployment rate during May 2024 for persons aged 15 to 24 years (youth unemployment rate) was 8.1% while the rate for those between 25 and 74 years stood at 2.7%.
