Over this coming weekend, around 450 international participants will attend the first edition of ‘Pop in the City’ in Gozo.

This was announced by Minister for Gozo and Planning Clint Camilleri, who explained that “through the ‘Pop in the City’ initiative, tourists, the majority of whom come from the French market, will be in Gozo to experience the culture, art, sport and natural beauty that our island offers. Tourism like this is essential because it continues to present Gozo as a distinct destination.”

Carlo Micallef, Chief Executive of the Malta Tourism Authority, said that Gozo offers a unique experience “where the tourist comes as a visitor and leaves as an ambassador of the destination.”

It was explained that ‘Pop in the City’ is an urban adventure that typically takes place in cities across Europe. It involves teams of two completing various challenges to discover the destination in a unique and fun way.
