Marsalforn Breakwater: Responses to consultation process being analysed - MinisterThe responses to the consultation process for the Marsalforn Breakwater project are currently being analysed, Minister for Gozo and Planning Clint Camilleri has said.

This follows the closure last year of the Environment Impact Assessment, which had been carried out as requested by the Environment Resources Authority (ERA).

The Minister was replying to a Parliamentary Question tabled by Opposition Spokesperson for Gozo Alex Borg, as to what stage the Marsalforn Breakwater project has reached.

“Eventually, the comments will be addressed and responded to,” the Minister added. “These will be then be sent back to ERA for further comments from the same authority if necessary.”Marsalforn Breakwater: Responses to consultation process being analysed - MinisterMinister Camilleri announced last September that the EIA study had been completed and that it would be going forward for consultation.

The Minister had also advised that the design chosen in relation to this project, which had been “evaluated and welcomed by the Local Council of Zebbug, is intended to meet two important criteria: the defence of the beach from the storm and that it has the least possible visual impact.”
