The City of Victoria Council in Gozo has officially began the process for a twinning agreement with Jerez de la Frontera, in Andalucia, Spain, to be signed in mid-November.
A delegation from the Victoria Council, led by Mayor Brian Azzopardi, were warmly welcomed by the Mayor, Maria Jose Garcia, the Deputy Mayors, Councillors and Council staff at the City Hall of this beautiful Spanish city.
Mayor Azzopardi explained that Jerez, like the City of Victoria, is a candidate for the European Capital of Culture for the year 2031, and this twinning is being established to strengthen the application of both cities.
