Blood donation cat remarkThis Tuesday, there will be a blood donation session in Gozo. All groups are constantly needed and every drop donated counts, the National Blood Transfusion Service said.

Last month 1,458 blood donations were made in Malta and Gozo, the NBTS said that this is 92 less units than is required for a “smooth service for patients. Donors can help save three lives with just one donation.”

The Service encouraged Gozitans to please keep attending donation sessions to help the patients in need get the necessary blood in a timely manner and to ensure a stable blood supply.

The NBTS advised that is has updated the donor eligibility guidelines removing restrictions on a number of medications. For more information on donor eligibility please call on 22066201 or 79307307 or on free phone 80074313.

The next session in Gozo will be on Tuesday, the 11th of November, from 1pm until 5pm, at the Xewkija Community Clinic.

“Your cooperation and generosity are greatly appreciated as always,” the Service said.

The centre is located at the Xewkija Community Clinic, in Triq tall- Hamrija, between the Primary School and the Bocci Club.
