Minister for Gozo and Planning Clint Camilleri visited Nadur during the ‘Joy to The World – Flimkien ghal Milied Ferriehi’ event in Nadur. There was a full programme of festive activities aimed at families of all ages as part of the ‘Christmas in Gozo’ event.
The Minister explained that in Nadur square, apart from the Christmas decorations, there is a small chapel that is hosting an exhibition of a traditional nativity scene as well as ‘Santa’s House.’
On December 13 Street, there was a Christmas Parade with dancing, singing, Christmas characters and the presence of Santa and Mrs Claus. Following the parade, a Grand Finale was held in the Square with activities and entertainment, as Santa Claus welcomed families to the toy shop.
The public was also able to visit a new chapel that hosted an exhibition of a traditional nativity scene, “crafted with skill and devotion that reflects local cultural heritage.” In addition, throughout the day and evening there was a varied festive programme in the Square for everyone to enjoy.
The Ghajnsielem Christmas tree, which is approximately 60 feet high and is made up of 4,500 glass bottles, was officially inaugurated for this year.
