The Gozo Business Chamber has welcomed the recent launch of the new fleet of electric buses which are now being operated all around Gozo.

The Chamber said it is ”satisfied” with the implementation of this measure by Malta Public Transport, which was announced in the last budget. It believes that this is an ”important milestone towards having cleaner transport on our roads.”

The GBC said that it had advocated for this measure, given the impact of public transport in Gozo. ”Because of Gozo’s size, the complete replacement of the diesel-powered buses with new zero-emission electric buses is an important milestone in Gozo’s journey towards reaching its climate neutrality objectives.”

The Gozo Business Chamber concluded by saying that it hopes that through targeted incentives this transition will also be facilitated in the commercial sector.
