16 new residential roads promised for Gozo now completed – Minister

Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri has announced that a total of 16 out of 100 new roads promised for Gozo have been completed in three years.
He was speaking during a visit he made to Triq il-Wardija l-Qala, one of the roads that has just been completed and tarmacked in recent days. Work included the replacement of all the sewage services and tarmacked. Triq il-Gidi, Xewkija and part of Triq it-Tempju tal-Imramma, in Sannat were also completed with tarmac.
“We have continued with the infrastructural work that has not stopped at all in order to fulfil what we promised in the last Budget, namely, to complete 100 new residential roads for Gozo in three years. In total, more than 2,700 square meters of tarmac was provided on these three roads. We are committed to continuing with this pace of work in order to also fulfil this promise,” the Minister said.
Camilleri said that before this project on residential roads began, discussions had been held with various Local Councils so that they themselves identified the roads that needed to be built.
Minister Clint Camilleri concluded by saying that ”the aim of this project is not only to provide better services to Gozitan residential areas but also better road surfaces for the benefit of both residents and visitors.”
