The beautiful hilltop village of Xaghra will once again be hosting the Fig Festival – now an integral part of the cultural calendar for Xaghra and Gozo.

The soil around Xaghra offers the best conditions for fig trees to grow and Victory Square, in the heart of this village, will be the setting for a celebration of figs and culinary talent – making it a wonderful family event. The festival will bring together farming, culture and crafts and includes live entertainment.

Organised by the Xaghra Local Council, the festival gets underway from 7pm onwards, on Saturday, the 27th of June.

The Mayor of Xaghra Victor Curmi thanked the Ministry for Gozo for its support in making such events possible, which celebrate the heritage, culture and unique flavours of Gozo.

Admission to the event is free of charge.
