Gozo Minister discusses international sporting opportunities in Gozo

Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri, said that meetings have been taking place in London, with the main agenda focusing on international sporting opportunities in Gozo.
He said that next year, Gozo will host the Triathlon and Netball competitions for the 2027 Commonwealth Youth Games.
The Minister for Gozo concluded by saying that ”we aren’t stopping there; we are continuing our work to establish Gozo as a hub for international competitive sport.”

In the UK we advanced our sporting abilities in the 1990’s by financing sport with money from the National Lottery. By just taking a small percentage of the income we have been able to help up and coming youngsters reach standards with coaching and training facilities home and abroad they could never achieve.
I cannot remember his name but Malta had a world class Clay Shooter, who if he had come from the UK he would have been supported in competitions all over the world. Just imagine how good he could have been. God did not only create champions fron large countries
