Devotional Wednesday for the Assumption of Our Lady

On Wednesday, the 5th of May, the National Shrine of Our Lady ‘Ta’ Pinu’ begins the fifteen traditional Wednesdays in spiritual preparation for the Solemnity of the Assumption of Our Lady. The programme of activities will be as follows:

The Sanctuary opens its doors at 4.30am.

5.00am, 6.00am, 7.00am, 8.30am and 9.00am: Holy Masses.

Between 11.30am and 5.30pm: Eucharistic Adoration in silence in the chapel of Our Lady ‘Ta’ Pinu.’

5.30pm: Solemn mass with homily led by H.L. Bishop Nicholas J. Cauchi with the participation of the Nativitas Choir. This mass will be broadcast live on Radio Maria (102.3 FM).

6.30pm and 8.00pm: Holy Masses.

9.00pm: Recitation of the Holy Rosary aux flambaux. During the singing of the Marian Litany, there will be a procession with a replica of the titular painting of Our Lady venerated in the Sanctuary.

As soon as procession enters in the Basilica, there will be the recitation of psalms and impartation of Eucharistic Benediction. The Sanctuary closes at 10.30pm.

The Rector of the Sanctuary, Rev. Gerard Buhagiar, warmly invites everyone to attend for these devotions and invoke the intercession of Our Lady ‘Ta’ Pinu’.
