Dr Chris Said is to resume his former post of Parliamentary Secretary for public dialogue, local government and consumer affairs, after being sworn in at a ceremony to be held tomorrow.
Dr Said was acquitted in October of alleged perjury charges in a child custody case. The time limit for filing any appeal came to an end yesterday afternoon.
Dr Said had resigned from his post on September the 23rd, after criminal proceedings were brought against him by the Police Commisioner for allegedly commiting perjury under oath when testifying in a child custody case. Before the trial started the Prime Minister had said that he looked forward to reappointing Dr Said to his former post as soon as proceedings were over.
