The organisation ‘Il-Milied fix-Xaghra’ with the collaboration of the Xaghra Local Council will be organising a seminar about the construction of cribs with the aim of disseminating more information about this Christmas-related tradition. It is interesting to note that the main aim of this organisation’s foundation way back in 2004 was to promote and organise better the celebrations related to Christmas in Xaghra.

This seminar about crib construction will be held on Sunday, the 28th of November 2010, which will be liturgically the First Sunday of Advent. This information session will take place at the Xaghra Youth Centre in 28th April 1688 Street between 9.30am and noon. This seminar will consist of a lecture by artist Paul Stellini about the construction of a crib from polystyrene. This demonstration will be complimented by a video on a big screen featuring one of the greatest biblical cribs in the world which is made of polystyrene and found in Seville (Spain). This crib is known as ‘Belen Bancaja.’

The members of the organisation ‘Il-Milied fix-Xaghra,’ together with the Xaghra Local Council, are inviting all those interested in this Christmas tradition to attend for this activity.
