Dr Simone Borg is appointed to the office of ambassador for Climate Change.

Presently, Dr Borg is the Head of Department of the Environmental law and Resources law within the Faculty of Laws at the University of Malta, where she is a resident full time academic. Dr Borg has a vast experience in Climate Change matters which includes her role as legal adviser to the Malta Policy Group of Experts on Mitigation and Adaptation to Climate Change. She is also Malta’s representative to the EU Group of Experts on Adaptation to Climate Change.

Her appointment replaces the previous Ambassador for Climate Change Mr Michael Zammit Cutajar who opted to be replaced because of personal reasons. The Government of Malta is gratefull for the commitment and dedication to the post which underpinned outgoing Ambassador Zammit Cutajar’s term as ambassador.
