Kast Sunday over 30 Malta Police Officers were the guardians of the Flame of Hope at the Law Enforcement Torch Run inaugurating activities prior to the departure of 38 athletes from Special Olympics Malta, for the Special Olympics World Summer Games in Greece next month.

The Flame of Hope was carried by athletes and police officers from Msida to St Julians. Supported by the Vodafone Malta Foundation, McDonalds, and General Soft Drinks Ltd, the 7 km relay run was a fund-raising and awareness exercise, and a gesture of solidarity by police officers that has forged a new bond between the Police Force and SO Malta.

Law enforcement units worldwide have for several years supported the Special Olympics Programme in their country or region by organizing and participating in the Law Enforcement Torch Run.
