The Malta Resources Authority for Competition and Consumer Affairs (MCCAA) and Malta Tourism Authority (MTA) has today issued a warning to owners of kiosks and snack bars, that it is their legal obligation to prominently and clearly display the prices of food or drink, including snacks, that they are offering for sale. This obligation the MCAA said, applies to all business owners.

The MCCAA and the MTA said that they will continue their work to ensure that establishments comply with the regulations which are managed by both authorities. They warned that any offenders are subject to penalties under the law.

The Authorities urged the public to report any shortcomings in this regard to the MCCAA on fair.trading@gov.mt or by telephone on 21446250-5.
