Nature Trust Malta are holding ‘Open Days’ this weekend, the 3th and 4th of December 2011. The event will be at Wied Ghollieqa Nature Reserve, near the Nature Trust Office office at the University of Malta.

“Ever wondered how a nature reserve is managed? Ever wondered what flora and fauna are found in the small “patch of green” between Kappara and the University? Ever wondered what stopped this valley from becoming a car park in the 1990s?” The answers to all these questions can be found at the Wied Ghollieqa Environment Centre.

Besides this, visitors will also have the chance to:

– Taste some of the pesticide free honey produced entirely from this nature reserve.

– Buy some Christmas Hampers which include Wied Ghollieqa Carob Syrup, Wied Ghollieqa Honey, Wied Ghollieqa Capers and Wine.

– There will also be a number of Publications for people of all ages and a number of Oak trees and other plants.

Walks and Talks about the place will be held at regular intervals.

Everyone is warmly invited to attend. Should the weather not be suitable to hold the event, then it will be postponed to a later date. Hours for the ‘Open Days’ are from 10am to 4pm.
