The Xaghra Local Council recently organised the thirteenth edition of the annual grand Christmas Concert at the Collegiate Basilica and Sanctuary of the Nativity of Our Lady in Xaghra.
During the concert, which had the patronage of H.E. Dr. George Abela, the President of Malta, a sum of €870 in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund.
The choir who featured during this concert, was ‘Schola Cantorum Jubilate’ whose choristers hail mainly from Xaghra. The Cordia String Quartet accompanied the choir in various carols. It also performed the ‘Christmas Concerto’ by Arcangelo Corelli. The Schola was directed by Ms. Marouska Attard.
The soloists who performed during the concert were Joseph Camilleri (organ), Jacob Portelli (harp), Noemi Attard (flute), Philip Attard (soprano saxophone), Bass Albert Buttigieg and Choir Director Soprano Marouska Attard.
