1. Fondazzjoni Arka held its Annual General Meeting. The secretary read out the administrative report for 2011 and explained the projects which the Fondation had undertaken and completed during the past year, namely the purchase of a new Generator set sponsored by Eco Gozo and the refurbishment of the Gymnasium sponsored by Vofadone Foundation, among others. He later read out and explained the financial statement for 2011. Both reports were approved.

During his speech, Mgr Emanuel Curmi, Director, mentioned various other projects which the foundation will embark on in the coming years, in a growing effort to reduce the consumption of electricity, water and gas. He said that after eleven years of operation, a general refurbishment of the first floor, where the clients are hosted, was badly needed and this included changing the Air Conditioning Units with VRF’s which are more economic and efficient. Solar water heaters were to be installed to help reduce the consumption of gas to heat the indoor pool, and recycling the water of the underground cisterns, which would reduce the water consumption. These projects would cost the Foundation around €200,000. These projects would not have been possible if it was not for various entities and individuals, who would be sponsoring a substantial part of the funding.
