Recently Mgr. Tommaso Caputo, Nunzio Apostolico for Malta and Libya , visited the National Shrine of Ta’ Pinu on the occasion of the third anniversary of the death of John Paul II.
Schola Cantorum Jubilate welcomed Mgr. Caputo, who was accompanied by Mgr. Perici, his secretary and Mgr. Mario Grech, with the Gregorian Chant ?Sacerdos et Pontifex’. Various Gozitan priests concelebrated in the mass.
The Missa ?Cantate Domino’ was performed together with the hymns: ?Jubilate Deo’ (Portelli), the Paschal ?Allelulia’ with an arrangement by Mgr. Frisna, ?L-Ikel tal-Hajja’ (Holst), ?O Sacrum Convivium’ (Bartolucci), ?Ir-Rghaj u s-Sid tieghi’ and finally ?Regina Coeli’ (Bartolucci).
Following the mass, Mgr Caputo met the Schola members whom he addressed as ?my choir’. He showed his appreciation to the choir and thanked them for being so professional and moving in their performance. He was pleased to again meet the Schola members for the third time. Schola Cantorum Jubilate had previously met Mgr. Caputo in Rome and more recently in Malta , in his Nunziatura.
