Speaking at a political activity in Xewkija this evening, Labour Party Leader Dr Joseph Muscat said that it was clear that Gozo was ready to work at the change in direction the country needed.

He said that the party would set out a new roadmap for Gozo. This would include help that enabled people to get into employment, improvements to the infrastructure and protection for the environment. The Labour Leader said that the island had seen better times in the past.

Gozo had benefited from both Labour and PN Governments in previous years, the Labour Leader said, however, in the past five years Gozo had been forgotten and the young people of the island were complaining of the lack of opportunities which forced them to either work in Malta, or to seek employment abroad, taking them away from their families

Dr Muscat concluded the event in Xewkija by making an appeal to Gozitans to join the Labour Party Movement which encouraged people who wanted to see a better country working towards a change in direction.
