Xaghra celebrates the Feast of Saint Joseph this weekend

This coming weekend, the Xaghra Parish will solemnly celebrate the Feast of Saint Joseph, the Spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary and Co-Patron of the same Parish.
The full programme of activities is as follows:
Saturday 4th May: Eve of the feast day.
6.30pm: Solemn Vespers led by Rev. Archpriest Carmelo Refalo together with the Reverend Chapter and Clergy of Xaghra Parish Church.
7.00pm: Solemn High Mass presided by H.L. Bishop Mario Grech together with the Reverend Chapter and Clergy of Xaghra Church. The Voci Angeliche Choir will animate this Solemn Liturgy. The choir will be directed by Mrs. Grace Vella and accompanied on the organ by organist Ivan Attard. Soon afterwards, the Antiphon ‘Exsurgens Josef’ will be sung and Eucharistic Benediction is imparted.
Sunday 5th May: Solemn Feast of Saint Joseph.
5.00am, 6.00am, 7.00am, 8.30am and 9.45am: Masses with homily.
11am: A special Mass for Xaghra youths and adolescents animated by the Schola Cantorum Jubilate Choir directed by Ms. Marouska Attard.
4.15pm: Solemn Vespers led by Rev. Archpriest Carmelo Refalo together with the Reverend Chapter and Clergy of Xaghra Parish Church.
5.00pm: Solemn High Mass presided by Vicar General Mgr Giovanni Bosco Gauci together with the Reverend Chapter and Clergy of Xaghra Church. The orchestra and the Voci Angeliche Choir will be directed by Mro. Antoine Theuma.
5.45pm: Festive band marches by the Victory Band of Xaghra from the Society’s Club in Maria Bambina Street to Victory Square.
6.30pm: Solemn Procession with the devout statue of Saint Joseph along Victory Square, 28th April 1688 Street, Saint Joseph Street and Church Street. The procession will be accompanied by the Victory Band of Xaghra, playing religious marches.
8.00pm: Entry of the procession back to the Basilica. The Antiphon ‘Exsurgens Josef’ will be sung and Eucharistic Benediction is imparted, bringing these festivities in honour of Saint Joseph to an end.
