The Parliamentary Secretary for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and Active Ageing Dr. Justyne Caruana, today addressed the Special Olympics Malta Family Health Forum. Dr Caruana said that she is going to promote and create more awareness about the abilities of the disabled, as well as create more visibility to this sector.

She added that more inclusion was needed in this sector, as well as the need to continue to raise more interest in other sports that are available in our country.

She also said, “I have a heartfelt enthusiasm in this sector and with my Parliamentary Secretariat we are looking forward with great interest to the progress of the Special Sport Athletes, particularly those of the Special Olympics Malta”

“The Special Olympics has opened doors for all disabled children and persons to practice sports,” the Parliamentary Secretary concluded, and therefore we have a duty to give our full support to this organisation in order for it to grow and attract more disabled athletes, who in the future may bring great honour to our county.”
