The Xaghra Hill Climb 2-day event got underway today with an afternoon practice session for drivers, who had the opportunity for two runs up the hill to Xaghra.

Sunday sees the the fourth round of the Island Car Club competition starting at 9.00am, when the first of the drivers will leave the paddock area.The participants will face different challenges, including a long steep ramp at the starting point, a 3-point chicane, a roundabout, wide apex, then just metres away from the finishing line, a very tight hairpin. Sunday’s events are due to finish at around 3.00pm.

The Xaghra Local Council has ad.vised that the main entry to the village, i.e. 8th September Avenue, will be closed during these races. The public is kindly being requested to use the entrances from Mielha Street, Ghajn Damma Street, San Marzjal Street and Sellum Street.
