This Sunday’s Gozo-Rocks! Clean and Green Hike will be from San Lawrenz to Qbajjar. Organiser, Louis Debattista said that they will leave from in front of Qala Council at 3.00pm, those wishing to start at San Lawernz can meet up in the Square at 3.30pm.
There will be a bus will be waiting for the clean-up volunteers at the finish in Qbajjar.
Louis advised “it’s very important to wear long trousers as we will be passing through a lot of thorny grass, please also please bring food and water.”
“None of the local councils in the area have decided to contribute to cover the transportation cost for this hike,” Louis said, “so if you can make a donation of any amount it would be much appreciated.” 
Louis added that he “will keep trying to get the local councils to pay for our commitment to clean up our environment our Island. The bus costs €59 for round trip.
“We are so close to reaching our goal of hiking and cleaning around the whole perimeter of Gozo! Hope to see you Sunday!”
Louis said that he hopes that “once the clean-up hike around the perimeter of the island has been achieved, that the Minister for Gozo will reward the children who have been involved for the last 6 months, with a certificate.”

Its a good initiative for the Gozo clean up crew, also disappointed that the local councils declined to donate, this is because we learned over the years since we’ve been here that the Gozitans want everything gratis, so we said sod them if they do not appreciate the hard work these kids are putting in cleaning their dirty messy country side, sod them let them clean their own mess. Its a fair and truthful comment yeah!
