The Xewkija Local Council started works at Ta’ Blankas, for the refurbishment of this 2.5 ha olive grove, which is located on the boundary of the Mgarr ix-Xini Valley.
The Council said that the idea is to transform Ta’ Blankas into a family park, which will attract both locals and tourists.
Works will include the installation of new sanitary systems, benches and a traditional ‘girna,’ (stone shelter, which was mostly used for sheltering flocks of goats or sheep) and the restoration of rubble walls, among others.
