Gozo Live is launching a play writing competition, for which anyone resident on Gozo, or associated with Gozo, is eligible to enter.

The Year of Culture 2018 is just round the corner and Gozo Live said that it would like to play its part. Performing of plays written by people in Gozo is just one of those ways.

Even those who have never written a play before may like to try their hand at this. The subject matter is entirely open but the performing time of the play must be no more than 20 minutes.

The rules are available from Gozo Live on gozolive2018@gmail.com. “Please pass them on to anyone you think may be interested,” the organisers said.

There is no entry charge and they are hoping for a large number of entries.

Independent judges will be appointed to judge entries and the best 4 plays will be performed in a rehearsed reading to an audience later this year.

Gozo Live said that it is also hoping to obtain sponsorship to also offer cash prizes.
