Gozo Live has announced the appointment of Kevin Sciberras as President of the society. Kevin, together with Alan Lloyd, was a co-founder of Gozo Live in 2012 when he was Head of the Culture Office in the Ministry for Gozo.

Gozo Live is a society for writers, those interested in writing and reading and the performance of the written word. Each year Gozo Live puts on various performances of well known plays as well as plays written by people living in Gozo.

This year Gozo Live has launched a play writing competition for adults living in, or associated with, Gozo.

Kevin has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Humanistics from the University of Malta as well as a post graduate certificate in education. He has taught and lectured in sociology. The Society said that this background in education is important to Gozo Live which runs a writing event for all school students in Gozo.

Kevin’s present position is Coordinator of the Education, Science and Culture Centre, which is a recent initiative of the Office of Malta’s Permanent Representation to UNESCO and the Gozo College.

“We welcome Kevin as President and look forward to working together with him,” Gozo Live said.
