After a lengthy and difficult evaluation by the 3 judges, who also had to call upon another judge to assist, the best play was finally selected: 'Kredu Sliema u Qaddisa' by Vincent Vella – The judges said "that it was well-crafted, tightly written and genuinely funny and humane."

The three runner-up, in no particular order, were: 'The Gold of Gelmus' by George Camilleri, .Going Back In Time' by Barbara Day and 'I Always Do My Best' by Barbara Day.

The organisers of the Gozo Live Play Writing Competition have said that all the entries received were of a very high standard and that all the plays will eventually be performed in some form.

The organisers added that all entrants are to be congratulated and that they hope that all of this years entrants will enter again in the 2016 competition which is to be launched in January.

The plays were submitted to the judges without any indication of who had written them and they were asked to choose the overall best play irrespective of language, length or content, along with 3 runners-up in no particular order.

Gozo Live is putting on a selection of these plays in a rehearsed reading performance on the 27th of November at 7.30 pm in the Exhibition Hall, St Francis Square, Victoria. The selection will include some of the winning plays and also some of the unplaced plays and the prizes will also be presented.
