Following serious allegations that 'shocking' abuses have taken place in the Addolorata Cemetery, Minister for Health and Energy, Konrad Mizzi, and Parliamentary Secretary Chris Fearne have appointed an inquiry which will be held by Judge Emeritus Alberto Magri.

The Ministry of Energy and Health said that they have taken immediate steps and have suspended the Environmental Health Practioner allegedly involved in the case who had been working at the cemetery for about eleven years until he was transferred to another section in April.

The Director responsible, who was allegedly aware of the abuses and did not act, has also been suspended during the ongoing investigation.

Police have also been informed of the allegations which have been made.
