ITS is to host a free public demonstration by Master Chocolatier Philippe Vancayseele. The Institute of Tourism Studies in St Julians in collaboration with Worldwide Co Ltd will be hosting a public demonstration by world renowned Master Chocolatier Philippe Vancayseele at its Main Campus in St Julians.

The event, to be held on Thursday, the 5th of November, is open to everybody with a passion for chocolate making from industry professionals to the general public. It follows a 2-full-day chocolate-making course (fully subscribed) which will also be delivered by Mr Vancayseele at the Institute of Tourism (ITS). Attendance to the demonstration is free of charge.

Mr Philippe Vancayseele is a renowned Master Chocolatier from Callebaut and has long and vast experience in working with chocolate. He will be delivering a demonstration highlighting aspects from the world of chocolate and discussing some of the topics tackled in his Master Class.

Among others the demonstration will look at understanding chocolate and its uses, as well as the making of various chocolate items such as pralines, truffles and chocolate figures.

This is the third time that ITS will be hosting Mr Vancayseele, following on other successful courses on the Basics of Chocolate Making held these past years. "We believe that our role as the Institute of Tourism Studies is to nurture students to become the tourism professionals of tomorrow as well as providing opportunities for people who are already in the industry to continue to improve and advance in their chosen careers," said Pierre Fenech, Executive Director for the Institute of Tourism Studies.

"It is also for this reason that along with our full-time course we organise short courses, part-time courses and other specialised courses such as this chocolate making course. Through our relationship with the industry both locally and internationally, we believe we can provide opportunities from which not only students but also professionals and the public in general can benefit."

The aim of the chocolate course is to train people and patisseries in the basics to work with chocolate and to understand the appropriate approach and techniques used when working with chocolate. At the same, through the public demonstration ITS aims at creating a passionate culture in the art of chocolate for locals.

The Art of Chocolate Making Demonstration is open to the public free of charge on Thursday, the 5th of November from 2.30pm at the Institute of Tourism Studies, St George's Bay, St Julians.
