GTA condemns vandalism of information boards on Gharb walking trailThe Gozo Tourism Association has strongly condemned the acts of vandalism carried out by “irresponsible individual/s” on the information boards forming part of an Gharb walking trail.

“These information panels were very useful to all trackers as these included descriptions on the Wied il-Mielah valley and the Wied il-Mielah Window.”

The Gozo Tourism Association acknowledged the efforts being done by the Ministry for Gozo and the Gharb Local Council, in order to attract further tourists in the locality. Adding, “most of the infrastructural and embellishment investment through EU funding, carried out by this council was mainly aimed to enhance the touristic product in the Gharb Locality. Therefore the Gozo Tourism Association deplores such acts of vandalism that in turn will be giving a bad name to our Island.”

The GTA said that it would like to encourage the Gozitans to take more care of their environment while it hopes that the necessary actions are taken to remedy the damages by the competent authorities.

What a crying shame that such mindless and gutless actions have found their evil way to such a peaceful and beautiful part of Gozo.

They or whoever are a just a bunch of imbecile lowest of the low not fit to walk the road amongst the good citizens of Gozo. One day I am sure whoever did this will see the error of their way.

Most of the damage done in Gozo ,is done by Maltese on weekend tours, that’s a fact.

We the people of Gozo fully agree with you Mike, the revenue is not so important as keeping our little island clean and a healthy environment, this is why all the visitors i’ve met abroad and still do on my travels put Gozo first and foremost ahead of Malta.

Mike our sentiments exactly, many Young Maltese come over in their droves some even 6-7 in a room, treat Gozo with disrespect, leave a mess for the local dogs to finish the job. From my experience i find that the Gozitans are clean people, i happened to love the Calypso island. I see that Mr.Debattista & many youngsters are doing a fine job by cleaning the surrounding area around Gozo. Well Done Guys !
