The Department of Health has today signed an agreement with Puttinu Cares for the benefit of Maltese patients who require treatment abroad.
Minister for Health Chris Fearne said that through this agreement the Department of Health will provide a financial contribution per night to Puttinu for Maltese patients or their relatives, towards accommodation costs in London..
He said that over the last year about 700 patients needed treatment abroad. This was made possible thanks to an agreement that Malta has with several countries, including the United Kingdom.
"This agreement once again stresses the need for collaboration between the Department of Health and NGOs for the good of the patient," said Minister Chris Fearne.
