The Gozo Business Chamber has welcomed the news that Transport Malta has issued a tender for the geological studies in connection with the plan to have a subsea tunnel between Malta and Gozo.

The Gozo Business Chamber pointed out "the urgency of this project as the present ferries are not enough to cater for the increased traffic between the two islands. In fact, in its budget proposals, the Chamber has also suggested a temporary fourth ferry ."

"These studies are in line with the commitment that government made in order to improve the connectivity between the two islands and the political consensus of both parties, PL and PN, that a tunnel is the best option for such connectivity," said the GBC.
