The Ministry for Gozo has said that the St Francis Steps project “is now in its final stages and construction work will be completed by the end of February 2017 as planned.”
This part of the project consists of steps that will lead down towards the bus station and parking area, a lift leading from the car park to the square and exhibition hall. Once completed the new access will help remove the dangers that currently exist when the public have to walk from the parking area to the square, the Ministry has said.
The project, which will also eventually include the landscaping of St Francis Square, is expected to cost in the region of €3 million.

With three million euros it was better to build the breakwater at Marsalforn Bay.
Money well spent. Thank you Dr. Refalo. If Marsalforn needs a Breakwater Mr. Zammit, I am sure there will be money for that. I wish that the Fountain will work more often even if at half speed! I mean less water so that it could be in full power on special occasions.
